Identity Services

Specops uReset helps users securely reset their own passwords with multi-factor authentication (MFA), reducing password-related calls to the service desk. Identity services are the authentication methods available to verify a user’s identity before a password reset.

Specops uReset supports all identity services listed in Specops Authentication Identity Services, except Windows Identity. Administrators can choose which methods to offer and how users must combine them to meet their organization’s authentication policy. Specops:ID is the recommended option.

Note

The identity services shown in the Specops Authentication Admin Web policy editor depend on your subscription, the oldest Gatekeeper version in your environment, and where your users are managed (Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID). Some identity services require a minimum Gatekeeper version.
