Install new deployment server, error: The required registry value ReleaseId on the key LocalMachine:SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion is missing
We have occasionally seen this error when the Image server operative system version or build Is older than the Deployment server operative system. A registry mismatch of some sort has most likely occurred. Installing the deployment server MSI manually on the new deployment server usually solves it.
On your Image server:
1. Close the Specops Deploy OS admin tool
2. Copy the correct SpecopsOSDeployServer-xXX MSI from C:\Specops\Deploy\DeploymentServerSetup over to your new deployment server and run the MSI manually.
4. Open the Specops Deploy OS admin tool on your Image server and select the “Servers” tab, your new Deployment server should now be visible.
5. Right-click the new Deployment server icon and select “Upgrade Deployment Servers”. Let the upgrade finish.
