Specops Client

Specops Client is a shared component used by multiple Specops products to deliver end-user functionality and ensure a consistent experience across authentication and password management scenarios. It enables users to reset their passwords directly from the login screen and provides enhanced feedback during password changes.

Here’s an overview of what the Specops Client adds to each Specops product:

Specops Password Policy: Provides detailed feedback during Ctrl+Alt+Del password changes and password expiration reminders notifying users before their password expires.
Specops uReset: Provides Start menu shortcuts, a Reset Password link on the login screen, and enrollment reminders which can guide (or optionally, require) unenrolled users to complete the enrollment process.
Specops Secure Service Desk: Ensures that users can be verified through the same authentication factors as in uReset. Delivers a consistent user experience for verification and password reset interactions between self-service and service desk scenarios.
Secure Access: Launches the Specops Secure Access desktop app on top of the Windows login screen, to add multi-factor authentication to Windows logon, RDP, and VPN authentications. When required, opens a secured browser to enroll additional identity services.
