Press release: New Version of Specops uReset Advances End-User Adoption Features

New enrollment features address number one self-service password reset solution challenge

  • Forced enrollment capabilities introduced
  • New user based reporting shows who has enrolled
  • Allows IT administrators to target the right users with the right actions

Stockholm – February 3, 2016. Specops Software announced today a new release of Specops uReset with support for forced enrollment and enhanced reporting functionality to allow IT administrators to easily increase enrollment levels.

“Self-service password reset solutions provide measurable benefits by reducing password reset calls to the helpdesk,” says Thorbjörn Sjövold, CTO of Specops Software.  “However IT departments still struggle to meet ROI goals due to poor end-user adoption rates. If end-users are not enrolled in the system they will continue to call the helpdesk.”

Specops uReset provides several key features to deal with this challenge including pre-enrollment, admin enrollment and now forced enrollment options. Pre-enrollment can be achieved by selecting any of the identity services that utilize common Active Directory (AD) user profile information such as: manager details or mobile number. Admin enrollment can be used when the user profile data does not exist in AD using basic PowerShell scripting and out-of-the-box cmdlets to fill this data.

If pre-enrollment or admin enrollment are not feasible, now IT departments can set forced enrollment options to ensure that end-users enroll. These options include: opening up a browser at login or flexible intervals or opening up a full screen un-closable browser to force enrollment. These options along with the ability to drill down to see which users haven’t enrolled allow IT departments to tackle this issue effectively.

“Specops uReset pre-enrollment and admin enrollment options are being used with great success allowing our customers to reach 100% adoption rates from day one,” continues Sjövold. “Now with the introduction of new forced enrollment and user based reporting functions, Specops uReset now allows IT administrators to pin point users that haven’t enrolled and literally force them to take action.”
